Quote of the week : "The love shared between a piece of wood and an artist." by D-mec

This is Kevin. He started skateboarding years ago because he wanted to impress girls and it WAS .... "Cool". Now he seeks a new hobby.

The first skateboards started with wooden boxeswith roller skate wheels attached to the bottom. WELL DONE BRO! Safety overload. Skateboarding was popularized by the 1986 skateboarding cult classic Thrashin'. It features appearances from many famous skaters such as Tony Hawk.
This is the time Kevin knew HE FUCKED UP. The image of the skateboarder as a rebellious, non-conforming youth has faded in recent years but Kevin wouldn't give up on it.
Early skate tricks had consisted mainly of two-dimensional freestyle manoeuvres like riding on only two wheels ("manual"), spinning only on the back wheels (a "pivot"), high jumping over a bar and landing on the board again, also known as a "hippie jump", long jumping from one board to another, (often over small barrels or fearless teenagers), or slalom. Trickskatin appeared with the evolution of skateparks and BADASS ramp skating. That's where Kevin broke his first leg.
Years went by and skateboarding began to change with the barbaric invasion of kick scooters in the parks. We went from rebel youth to aging and posy subcultur that ain't even credible. The war began!

Kevin hates those kiddos. He has to wait until 7 PM to finally try his lame tricks. And he isn't the only one. Everyone nowadays has to wait until night to start skating in the parks, otherwise it's "posy with your girl" trend with your booze and your fake tattoos. The real skateboarding culture is gone, now it's hipsters and yuppiedom. No more tricks, no more passion, only lame dudes buying overpriced boards doing nothing all day.
Is skateboarding an extreme sport anymore ? That's the question
SAFETY FIRST BRUUUUUUUUUH

Back in the days, the only gear you needed was your board, and your hat was your helmet.
Nowadays people wear : pads, helmets, shinguards, safety boots, seatbelts, bulletproof vests.
THAT ESCALATED QUICKLY!
So how can we tell if it's an extreme sport or not ? Let's ask Kevin.
Our opinion on the subject : One hates, one pratices and the last one doesn't give a fuck.
